JUMP CUT (WORK IN PROGRESS)

Sejak Covid-19 merebak di tahun 2020, bentuk pertunjukan telah berubah dan menonton performans secara fisik menjadi tidak dapat diandalkan. Karya ini merupakan eksplorasi seniman untuk memahami medium video dalam performance art sebagai respon terhadap kondisi hari ini. Bagaimana kemungkinan-kemungkinan performativitas dapat ditemukan, bahkan dalam elemen video yang paling sederhana?

Since Covid-19 has spread in 2020, the method to perform needs to adapt. Physical performance is unreliable, so we are bound to perform in frames. This work is an artist’s exploration of understanding the medium of video in performance art as a response to the present change. How can possibilities of performativity be found even in the simplest video elements?
